Abstract
This issue includes four articles on topics related to economic and social development in Bolivia and Latin America. The first analyzes the feasibility of bank mergers in the context of economies of scale in Bolivia. The second assesses crime trends in the State of Mexico and the impact of security policies. The third article demonstrates, in the case of Bolivia, the existence of reverse twin deficits and discusses the relationship between the fiscal balance and the trade balance. Finally, the fourth article highlights the importance of stakeholder participation and community resilience in the Ambi River basin in Ecuador. We express our deep gratitude to the members of the Internal Committee and the External Committee for their continued support in evaluating the journal’s articles. We also express our gratitude to the Universidad Católica Boliviana “San Pablo” for providing the financial support that has made the publication of this issue possible. We are pleased to invite you to read Issue 43 of the LAJED Journal. We are confident that reading it will provide insights for the development of Bolivia and the region.
