Abstract

This issue includes four articles on topics related to economic and social development in Bolivia. The first analyzes employment conditions, informality, and micro-entrepreneurship among Bolivia’s transgender and transsexual population, highlighting the barriers of discrimination that limit their access to the formal labor market. The second examines Bolivia’s productive structure using the Input-Output Matrix, identifying sectoral linkages and key economic activities for the country. The third evaluates the impact of the so-called “incendiary laws” on Bolivia’s forestry and agricultural sectors, providing evidence on their effects on deforestation and the expansion of agricultural land. Finally, the fourth article examines how different social identities influence trust and affection among Bolivians, highlighting the role of partisanship as a major source of polarization. We express our deep gratitude to the members of the Internal Committee and the External Committee for their continued support in evaluating the journal’s articles.
